Program proposals are invited within three general themes:
and organized as symposia or workshops. Organizers of sessions are encouraged to use an integrative approach and to include speakers from different institutions and countries, providing relevance to a broad audience and diverse viewpoints, with no more than 2 speakers from one country for a symposium or workshop, however exceptions will be considered. Speaker abstracts are obligatory required for both Symposia and Workshops. Speaker abstracts should provide adequate detail, not an overview, and follow the required format. Our goal is to make the presentations relevant to a rather broad audience of alcohol researchers. Submission is open to both ISBRA and ESBRA members and non-members alike.
Proposal acceptance may be a competitive process due to history of high number of submissions and limited available slots in previous ISBRA and ESBRA conferences. Thus, not all submissions may be accepted. The official congress language is English.
Symposium: intended to highlight progress and exciting new developments in a field. They should comprise a 5-minute introduction followed by 4 presentations consisting of 18-minute talks and a 13-minute discussion/question period (no slides). Total time is 90 minutes. Speaker Abstracts are required for each presentation and are a separate submission process.
Workshop: intended to focus on new, developing or established research or clinical questions or problems that may be helped by open discussion. They should comprise an introduction (5 minutes) in which the topic is outlined and questions or goals are presented, followed by either:

All submissions will be anonymously reviewed by members of the scientific committee. The scientific committee will then decide on rejection or acceptance either as a symposium or a workshop. All speakers are required to register for the meeting. The submission of an abstract implies registration for the full congress (so please ensure funding for registration, congress fee, travel and accommodation expenses), and acceptance of the final decision about method and allocation of presentation by the scientific committee.
Note: Authors are required to confirm their presentation acceptance, and register & pay the registration fees before July 15, 2022, and they are responsible for their own registration, transportation and accommodation costs. If no acceptance form, registration & payment of the organizer(s) have been received by that time, the symposium or workshop will be removed from the program and abstracts not included in the congress proceedings. Authors will be notified about the final decision of the scientific committee by May 15, 2022 and, in the case of acceptance, will also be informed of preliminary time and date of symposium or workshop.
